UAn earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale hit Hualien, in Taiwan, this Friday.

According to official sources, cited by Reuters, there were at least two tremors, with the strongest registering a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter scale.

In local time, the tremors occurred early in the morning on Saturday (due to the time difference). According to what Reuters explains, the earthquake caused some buildings to shake in the capital, Taipei.

The first earthquake was the strongest, followed by another earthquake, measuring 5.8 on the same scale.

No more serious incidents have yet been recorded. Remember that since Taiwan was hit by an earthquake measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale at the beginning of the month, more than a thousand shocks have been recorded. The earthquake at the beginning of this year killed at least 17 people, and left a trail of destruction, as well as some residents trapped in several locations.
