On May 1st, the death of three-time Formula 1 champion Ayrton Senna turns 30. The Brazilian driver and idol was competing in the San Marino Grand Prix, in Italy, when his car ran off the track, causing a fatal accident.

To honor Senna’s memory, some Brazilian media outlets, such as Globo and Record, prepared a series of special content shown during the week of his death.
Globe
Globo promoted the union between TV Globo, Globonews and SporTV to create this content. Open TV will promote tributes that start this Sunday, 28th.
Esporte Espetacular will show a special report that hears from Castilho de Andrade, journalist and press director of the Brazilian F1 GP; and Marcus Santos, businessman and collector, who closely followed Ayrton Senna’s career. At the end of the night, Fantástico will take Renato Peters on a visit to the Senna Family farm.
During the week, Bom Dia São Paulo and Globo Esporte present episodes that reinforce the legacy of the Formula 1 champion.
The subscription channels GloboNews and SporTV are also preparing special reports in honor of Senna. On May 1st, SporTV newsroom will have a retrospective of the pilot’s successful trajectory. Meanwhile, the news channel features Senna’s biography in the Sunday Special.
Finally, Globoplay premieres on Wednesday, the 1st, the documentary ‘Senna by Ayrton’ which tells this journey through the protagonist’s eyes, in the first person.
Ayrton Senna on digital
As part of Globo’s actions, SporTV land, the sportv universe hosted on the Roblox platform, will have a space in honor of the pilot. The action takes place in partnership with Senna Brands and will take the character Senninha to a special game.
Actions in the digital environment could already be perceived by users since the 11th, when it was possible to observe replicas of cars on the tracks.
Record
Domingo Espetacular, Câmera Record and PlayPlus will present this Sunday, the 28th, a documentary produced by Roberto Cabrini. The journalist was responsible for accompanying Senna to the hospital and bringing the news of the driver’s death in 1994.
“Senna 30 years: The Day That Hasn’t Yet Ended” features the journalist’s investigations and personal files, collected over the last 30 years, as well as interviews with people close to Ayrton Senna.
Among these, Galvão Bueno, friend and owner of the voice that conveyed to the public the great moments of the pilot’s career; his girlfriend at the time, Adriane Galisteu; the doctor Giovanni Gordini, the first to treat him. And there’s Betise Assumpção, Senna’s advisor at the time, who for the first time talks about everything she saw and heard on that fateful day.
