A Prime Video announced that the miniseries ‘Mr. Rui’ – based on the life and career of the founder of Delta Cafés, Rui Nabeiro – will premiere this Wednesday, March 20th. Remember that Nabeiro died precisely one year ago, on March 19, 2023.
The series will consist of two episodes and, according to a statement from Prime Video, will tell “the real story of one of the most charismatic characters in our country”.
“The dreamy boy, raised in rural Alentejo in the first years of the dictatorship, was also the skilled young man who made it in smuggling, the visionary man who expanded his small coffee business internationally, the politician who created enemies and found himself struggling with justice, the man decorated Commander, for never forgetting that wealth and power must serve the community. His people”can be read in the synopsis.
Playing Rui Nabeiro we have José Raposo, a name joined in the cast by Carla Andrino, Ana Guiomar, Afonso Lagarto, Sara Barradas, Marco Delgado, Luís Simões, Tiago Teotónio Pereira, Diogo Infante and Joaquim Nicolau.
Note that the first episode of ‘Mr. Rui’ will debut this Tuesday, the 19th, on TVI. The second episode will be released on Wednesday, the 20th, the same day that the miniseries becomes available on Prime Video.
