sAccording to the Associated Press (AP), according to the passports shown by the organization’s employees, three of the fatal victims are a Briton, an Australian and a Pole.

The Spanish agency Efe added that the fourth dead person was Irish.

The attack occurred after the victims distributed goods in northern Gaza, arrived hours earlier by sea from Cyprus.

The images show the bodies of the five dead at the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Hospital, in the city of Deir al-Balah, in central Gaza.

Several wore protective equipment with the humanitarian institution’s logo.

A Palestinian Red Crescent paramedic who was part of the team that took the bodies to the hospital, Mahmoud Thabet, told the AP that the car they were traveling in, after helping to deliver the aid that arrived by boat, was the target of an Israeli attack. , information that it was not possible to confirm with another source and the Israeli military did not respond to the request to comment on what happened.

The aid ships that arrived today transported around 400 tons of food and supplies in a shipment organized by the United Arab Emirates and World Central Kitchen, the institution founded by famous chef José Andrés.

In March a ship delivered 200 tons of aid in a pilot operation and the Israeli army was involved in coordinating both deliveries.

The United States has promoted the sea route as a way to deliver much-needed aid to northern Gaza, where several hundred Palestinians face imminent famine, largely cut off from the rest of the territory by Israeli forces.

Israel has banned the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, the main UN agency in Gaza, from making deliveries to the north, and other aid groups say sending convoys of trucks has been too dangerous due to the inability of the military to guarantee safe passage.
