Moiseyev, 61, was previously commander of the Black Sea Fleet, a position he held until 2018, but in 2019 he was appointed to lead the Northern Fleet.
Pinchuk, 52 years old and born in the port of Sevastopol, in Crimea, a Ukrainian peninsula annexed by Moscow in 2014, served until February 2024 as deputy commander of the Black Sea Fleet.
With missiles and naval and aerial drones of its own manufacture, Ukraine has managed to destroy, since the beginning of the Russian invasion, in February 2022, a third of the ships of the Black Sea Fleet, which had caused heavy damage in the first months of hostilities. .
Last February, Kiev destroyed the Russian landing ship “Caesar Kunikov” and the missile corvette “Ivanovets” near the coast of Crimea, and in early March it also sank the corvette “Sergei Kotov”.
According to the Ukrainian military intelligence service (GUR), seven Russian sailors were killed in the latest attack carried out using Magura V5 naval drones.
