Some US military aid to Ukraine is already in Germany and Poland, reducing the time it takes for weapons and equipment to reach the front linesCNN reports, citing a source familiar with the aid delivery.

The source also said that artillery shells will be among the first materials to be sent.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said during Tuesday’s visit to Poland that support for Ukraine is also a form of defense for the West.

“By helping Ukraine, we are helping it destroy the combat potential of the Russian Federation, which can threaten us”. Stoltenberg added that “not a single NATO fighter is used to achieve this objective.”

Russia continues bombing campaign

Five people were injured following Tuesday’s Russian attack on Kostiantynivka, in the Donetsk region.

According to preliminary data, a guided aerial bomb was used.

These bombs help Russian forces advance “through the ruins”, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov said earlier.

This Tuesday, Russian forces also bombed Odessa, Kherson, Kharkiv and Dnipro.

Ukrainian military leaders estimate that around 25,000 Russian troops are trying to invade Chasiv Yar and the surrounding settlements in the Donestsk region and are currently trying to capture the village of Ivanovskoye and the surrounding area of Bogdanovka to reach Chasiv Yar, which is a crucial point for further advances towards Kostiantynivka, Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.

Experts say Russia’s plan to take Chasiv Yar by May 9 and Vladimir Putin’s inauguration will not be easy to implement as allies are finally accelerating aid deliveries.

Russian forces appear to be trying to penetrate widely into Ukrainian lines northwest of Avdiivka and could launch a full-scale attack as early as spring or summer, but their ability to do so will likely be diminished by the arrival of Western aid.

The UK Ministry of Defense considers it likely that the Russian army will seek to advance towards the town of Kostyantynivka, after claiming to have taken control of Novomykhalivka.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, based in the United States, Russian forces recently confirmed gains at Ocheretyne in the midst of continuous fighting near Avdiivka, but They do not have total control of the locality, contrary to what they claim.
