Considered one of the great phenomena of LGBTQIA+ literature Currently, the writer Pedro Rhuas is a confirmed presence in Bahia Book Biennial. On that occasion, he will participate in the debate tables “The book that made me a reader” and “For new love stories”, in the Arena Jovem space. O largest culture and literature event in the Northeast takes place between April 26th and May 1st, at the Salvador Convention Center, and will have the theme “Stories that Bahia Tells“.

With more than 100 thousand books sold in three years of career, Rhuas believes in the potential of art as an agent of social transformation. Your book “While I don’t find you” was one of the first national novels with LGBTQIAP+ and Northeastern representation aimed at young audiences to debut directly on Veja Magazine’s bestseller list. The work was the winner of the Pop Literature Competition, from Editora Seguinte, in 2020. In 2023, Rhuas released his second novel, entitled “The sea took me to you”. Also last year, he launched the soap opera “The Universe Knows What It Does”, a spin-off of his debut novel.

The Bahia 2024 Book Biennial is curated by writer and journalist Joselia Aguiar, journalist Scheier and journalist, director, screenwriter and cultural producer Mira Silva and also includes confirmed attractions Itamar Vieira Junior, Raphael Montes, Abdi Nazemian and more.
