Maserati GranTurismo and the electric SUV Grecale, which corresponds to the name Folgore, will soon arrive on the Portuguese market and open a new chapter in the Italian brand’s offering. The prices are in line with the emblem’s reputation. From €203,895 and €136,000, respectively.
The 2+2 sports car like the renewed GT, built on the same chassis and with the concern of respecting the driving feel of a Maserati, is a true machine: 760 hp (limited!), 1,350 Nm of torque, 2, 7 seconds from 0 to 100 and 8.8 to 200 and 325 km/h maximum speed.
All-wheel drive with three engines, one for each rear wheel, all with 400 hp and 450 Nm of torque, benefits from a system that automatically manages the system.
In the construction, there was a concern to use light materials such as aluminum and magnesium, together with high-performance steel. This solution led to the development of new manufacturing processes, responsible for reference weight values for the class. In any case, the car weighs 2,260 kilos.
The ‘T’ battery with 92.5 kWh and 800 V technology allows for a combined consumption of 18.4 kWh/100 km and the announced range is 450 kilometers. The super-fast charging capacity allows you to take the battery from 20 to 80% in 18 minutes and five minutes is enough to get enough for 100 kilometers.
Wider rear track (13 mm) and 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels respect the philosophy of a sports car in the best Italian tradition.
The GranTurismo is a 2+2 with the usual space limitations in this type of solution, which extend to the luggage compartment, limited to 270 liters. The center of gravity is naturally lower, favoring behavior. The ground clearance is 13.5 cm.
Inside, a sports atmosphere dressed with quality and refinement and the entire digital world in which the traditional clock in the middle of the dashboard is a screen capable of showing a lot of information. Infotainment and comfort appear on separate monitors.
The GranTurismo will go on sale in April, alongside the Grecale Folgore, with more modest capabilities: 500 hp, 820 Nm of torque, 4.7 seconds from 0 to 100 and 220 km/h top speed. This has a larger capacity battery, 105 kWh, but with 400 V technology. It promises a range of around 500 kilometers and a combined consumption of 23.6 kWh.
Maserati announces the electrification of all models in its range by 2025 and by 2028 it will be a brand without combustion engines.
