School Week to Combat Violence Against Women

Last Thursday, 29/02, the Municipal Department of Education promoted an important action through a lecture and awareness raising held in yet another partnership with the Military Police of the State of São Paulo. The main theme was the “Prevention of Violence Against Women”, under Law No. 14,164 of June 10, 2021, which establishes the “School Week to Combat Violence Against Women” to be held annually in March in all institutions public and private basic education teaching, with the aim of spreading knowledge of the Maria da Penha Law, encouraging critical reflection among students and education professionals.

Captain PM Marina Biscaíno and Corporal PM Mancin were present, who with great professionalism, addressed the topic, training and raising awareness among those present in order to promote equality between men and women and prevent domestic and family violence, providing participants with more knowledge and attributes necessary for information to reach schools with seriousness and sensitivity.

The training was initially intended for Directors and Coordinators of School Units and throughout the month of March the topic will be developed together with school teams and students from the Municipal Network.
