Crafts are a great cultural asset and a source of pride for the Capital of Agreste. In addition to being present at Mercado Margarida Gonçalves, in the center of the city, artisans are now also present at Partage Arapiraca Shopping, presenting another edition of the Arapiraca Crafts Fair (Feir’art).

The fair takes place from March 14th to 17th, in the establishment’s entrance hall, and follows the same opening hours as the shopping mall, from 10am to 10pm. During the four days, products of the most varied types are on display, with competitive prices, creativity and skill that are trademarks of Arapiraca crafts.

The event will also feature three exclusive workshops open to the public: crochet, which takes place this Friday, felt art on Saturday and jewelry on Sunday. Despite the different days, the opening hours are the same for everyone, from 2pm to 4pm.

On its first day of operation, secretary Hibernon Cavalcante was present at the fair and took the opportunity to invite everyone from Arapiraquá to strengthen the tradition of local art. “Almost 800 artisans in our municipality are represented here. Prestige, because these people dedicate themselves as much as possible, this art that sometimes even passes from father to son, and really drives our city’s economy”, he highlighted.

Art and its recognized importance

The Arapiraca artisan community has achieved a series of important achievements in recent months. This March, the Association of Artisans and Plastic Artists of Arapiraca (AAAPA), founded in December 2019, received a declaration of public utility, a benefit that promotes not only the social recognition of the institution, but also helps in fundraising.

In November 2023, the association received the “Aqui se Faz Cultura” seal, delivered by the Municipal Department of Culture, Leisure and Youth to entities that encourage culture in the municipality, an action that strengthens the community and helps keep the Arapiraquense tradition alive. .
