Arapiraca receives new shipment of physiological serum to supply Health Units

This Thursday (21), the Pharmaceutical Supply Center (CAF) received a new shipment of saline solution that will be distributed among the Basic Health Units. Between saline solution and oral rehydration serum, an investment of approximately R$ 160 was made thousand.

Serum is a versatile product, which helps in different types of procedures and is of great importance to have in UBS stock. With the increase in the incidence of dengue cases, investment is essential to support teams in treating the disease, as saline can prevent mild cases from progressing to severe cases.

In addition to investing in ways to treat the disease, the Department of Health has also been reinforcing its commitment to combating the Aedes aegypti mosquito and keeping the number of cases under control, through awareness-raising activities in UBS waiting rooms and cleaning efforts in communities.

Investments that don’t stop

Keeping the city’s pharmacies supplied is a major priority for Mayor Luciano Barbosa’s management, who in 2023 invested more than R$6.3 million in the Arapiraca pharmaceutical network. From 2021 to 2022, during his management, investments reached more than R$22 million, of which more than 70% came from his own resources.

Pharmacies also had technological advances, such as the implementation of Hórus, an innovative management system responsible for computerizing stock control and medication dispensing processes, and also the implementation of QR codes in all UBS, to promote greater ease at the time of to check the medicines available in stock.
