Health Surveillance professionals from the Municipal Health Department (Semusa) of Porto Velho carried out an inspection operation in pharmacies, drugstores and laboratories that carry out tests to detect Covid-19. The objective is to provide guidance on the mandatory notification of positive and negative cases on the e-SUS platform, from the Ministry of Health (MS).

The initiative is part of the inspection team’s action calendar, which began at the beginning of the year. Work carried out by inspectors from the Health Surveillance Division (Dvisa) and Strategic Health Surveillance Information Center (CIEVS).

During the operation, establishments that showed irregularities were penalized with a fine or ban, as required by law. Furthermore, professionals guided establishments on the importance of reporting Covid-19 tests.

According to the manager of the Health Surveillance Division (Dvisa), Ailton Furtado, the action is of paramount importance for controlling the spread of the virus, since the lack of notification data directly implicates the health network’s role in preventing the disease. .

“The notification of Covid-19 cases is an obligation of establishments that carry out tests, whether public or private. The correct insertion of results into the system allows the adoption of measures to prevent and control outbreaks or pandemics, preventing the spread of the disease”, he explains.
