The Municipal Health Department announced, this Monday (1st), that the laboratory tests of the 8-month-old patient who died in the early hours of March 8 were completed. The result was negative for dengue and positive for Covid-19. The child was admitted to the Ferreira Machado Hospital (HFM), but did not survive.

In a note, Campos City Hall concluded that “the investigation was closed by the Undersecretariat of Health Surveillance, concluding that Covid-19 was the cause of death”.

Remember the case

The victim passed through a private hospital and arrived at HFM on March 2, where he was admitted. In the early hours of the 8th, she died.

On the same day, in a note, Campos City Hall announced that “The Subsecretariat of Health Surveillance (SUBVS) informs that it received, on March 4, the notification of the 7-month-old patient and initiated an investigation for Covid-19 and other problems . The department awaits results of laboratory tests to conclude the investigation. The patient, who had been in a private hospital, arrived at Ferreira Machado Hospital (HFM) on March 2nd, was admitted to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), but died in the early hours of Friday (8)”, finished the note.
