Survey reveals that the State has 79.8% vaccination coverage, slightly below the national average of 84%
Mato Grosso do Sul recorded another death due to complications from Covid-19, informs the SES (State Department of Health) in an epidemiological bulletin released late this Tuesday afternoon (2).
The victim, an 88-year-old woman, was a resident of Aparecida do Taboado and had diabetes and hypertension as comorbidities. According to the ministry, she became the 55th confirmed death from the respiratory disease in 2024
According to the document, the State registered 201 new diagnoses in the last seven days, totaling 7,905 confirmations in 13 weeks. Among the municipalities with the highest incidence are: Iguatemi (+22), Aral Moreira (+14), Miranda (+12), Campo Grande (+11) and Paranhos (+9).
The Health survey reveals that the State has 79.8% vaccination coverage, slightly below the national average, which is 84%. The numbers consolidate the importance of the vaccine to prevent serious forms of the disease. Last year, for example, there were 220 deaths; the previous year, there were 1,206.
The authorities’ guidance is that people keep their vaccinations up to date and complete the immunization cycle against Covid-19 and other diseases.
