Manaus recorded more than 1,700 cases of dengue fever in the period from January 1 to March 23, 2024. The data is contained in the Arbovirus Epidemiological Report released by the city hall on Monday (25).
From January 1st to March 23rd, the capital of Amazonas had a total of 1,710 confirmed cases of dengue.
The report also shows that 7,251 cases of arbovirus were reported, of which 1,118 remain under investigation.
The number of confirmed deaths from the disease remains at one, and two others are being investigated.
The data from the Semsa Arbovirus Epidemiological Report comes from the Notifiable Diseases Information System (Sinan) and the Laboratory Environment Manager (GAL), and is subject to updating. The publication is prepared by the Epidemiological Surveillance, Environmental Surveillance and Vector Disease Control departments, and the Health Surveillance Strategic Information Center of the secretariat.
During the five working days of the week, the dengue vaccine is offered in 73 health establishments in Manaus. The vaccine is recommended for children and adolescents aged 10 to 14.
The goal of the vaccination strategy is to reach at least 90% of the target population, estimated at 162,708 adolescents and children.
Children and adolescents must remain under observation at the health unit for a period of 15 to 30 minutes, after applying the dose, in compliance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Health.
When attending the health unit, children and adolescents must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, carrying an official identification document, National Health Card (CNS) or CPF, and vaccination card.
