The Health Department of Santa Terezinha de Itaipu will hold the D-Day for Influenza Vaccination on April 13th (Saturday). From 8 am to 4:30 pm, all Basic Health Units (UBS’s) in the city will administer the doses. The action forms part of the national vaccination calendar, which started last Monday (25) and continues until May 31.

The publics to be vaccinated continue to be the priorities defined by the Ministry of Health (MS) for the prevention of each disease (check the images for the priority publics and clinical risk categories).

*Recommendations -* The trivalent immunizers from the Butantan Institute have three types of virus strains combined: A (H1N1); A (H3N2) and B (B/Victoria lineage). Children who will receive the vaccine for the first time must take two doses, 30 days apart. From 9 years of age onwards, only one dose is required.

Influenza is an infectious respiratory disease of viral origin, which can lead to worsening and death. Transmission occurs mainly through contact with particles eliminated by infected people (when talking, coughing, sneezing) or hands and objects contaminated by secretions.
