Viana City Hall, through the Municipal Health Department (SEMSA), publishes a new program to combat Aedes Aegypti, the mosquito that transmits Dengue, Zika and Chikungunya, in regions where cases of these diseases have been reported. The application will be made overnight, until April 30th.
The fumigation service returns for a new spraying cycle in the neighborhoods of Viana, with the application of insecticide at Ultra Low Volume (UBV), which consists of creating a barely visible mist, which must be carried out with little incidence of light, to obtain better results. results.
In case of rain, the application will be suspended and the schedule will be readjusted, as it makes it impossible to spray the insecticide into the air.
The fumigation follows the rules of the Ministry of Health protocol, being automatically carried out upon notification of any case of arbovirus.
The insecticide is applied in cycles. If used frequently, it can result in the opposite effect, that is, instead of eliminating the mosquito, it can help it become resistant. For this reason, the product is not used throughout the year.
