Expert reveals popular foods that make you fat (a lot)

IUnfortunately, some foods appear healthy, but in reality, they have a significant impact on the scale. To find out what you should avoid, Tayla Russel, a dietician, quoted in DailyMail, listed some examples of very popular foods that have a lot of calories and can make you gain weight.

First, the expert mentions the granola, a very popular food these days that “is not as low in calories as you think”. One cup may have around 400 to 500 calories.

Dry fruits are also on the list. “Of course they are very nutritious, but one cup can ‘cost’ you 600 calories”, warns the dietitian. Even so, you should not completely eliminate them from your diet because they have many qualities, but they should be consumed in moderation.

Furthermore, the expert advises that you always focus on “portion control” when consuming peanut butter. He explained that people regularly eat more than two tablespoons of peanut butter, meaning they consume more than 200 calories.

The list also includes dehydrated fruits. “Not only are they very calorie-dense, they also typically have a lot of added sugar,” she explains. Unfortunately, the pasta makes the list, “not because it’s bad, but because it’s very easy to eat in excess”.
