Team visited 175 homes today; No outbreaks of the transmitting mosquito were found

The Epidemiological Surveillance team was today (04/26) in the Jardim Medina neighborhood, carrying out Operation Casa a Casa. The action had the support of Poá Civil Defense. In total, 175 houses were visited. Of these, 58 were inspected. Another 117 were closed and informative material about the disease was left at the locations. No outbreaks of the transmitting mosquito were found this time.

Since January 1st of this year, the city has recorded 747 positive cases. A further 1,749 are under investigation. In total, Poá has 3,144 suspected cases – of these, 648 were discarded. No deaths were recorded this year.

“This is a very important action to monitor and combat the dengue mosquito, which has a greater chance of proliferating during this rainy season. Everyone needs to do their part: we at Health Surveillance carry out care and monitoring of the disease and the population avoids areas with stagnant water and open water tanks”, says the municipal secretary of Health, Alexandre Provisor.

Among the guidelines, the secretary recalls that it is important to maintain precautions such as not throwing garbage in vacant lots and keeping water tanks closed, among others. To clarify doubts, request a visit from agents and receive guidance on this and other diseases, the Health Ombudsman’s telephone number is 11 4634-3540. The entire service is free.
