Eduardo de Castro thought he was contacting Rui Lopes Ferreira on Facebook, when he realized that it was all a scam.

Eduardo de Castro, a Portuguese chef and restaurant entrepreneur who has emigrated to Brazil, was the victim of a scam by a person posing as Rui Lopes Ferreira, CEO of Super Bock, on Facebook. At issue is the request for a bank transfer worth 20 thousand euros, made on behalf of the person responsible for the Portuguese beer brand.

As he was experiencing problems with the distribution of Super Bock drinks in Brazil, Eduardo de Castro, chef and owner of the restaurant Casa do Chef, in the city of São Paulo, tried to contact Rui Lopes Ferreira, CEO of the Super Bock Group, through Facebook social network. “A friend of mine told me that he is an extremely approachable and friendly person. That’s why I looked for his name on Facebook. message. But I wanted him to know what is happening here, with the distribution”, recalls to JN Eduardo de Castro, who was born in Alfândega da Fé and has been an emigrant in Brazil for 11 years.
