Adriano Pedro, professor at the Escola Superior de Saúde do Politécnico de Portalegre, is the institutional coordinator of the CLINICALSIM project, aimed at Higher Education Institutions in Angola, to improve the practical training of nurses, developing capabilities in Angolan nursing HEIs.
The first face-to-face meeting took place on the 13th and 17th of February, in the city of Kuito (Angola). In a note, the Portalegre Polytechnic explains that the project is based on the definition of a Euro-Angolan approach to practical nursing training; the student briefing/reflection process; and the production of multimedia training materials with real nursing case studies.
Furthermore, the design, development and administration of Service-Learning management tools for community service, for the virtual clinic: integration and development of a common digital platform to support nursing practices, are other objectives of the project, alongside teacher training.
The project partners are: Universidad Europea del Atlântico (Santander, Spain); José Eduardo dos Santos University (Huambo, Angola); International University of Cuanza (Kuito, Angola); Order of Nurses of Angola and Polytechnic Institute of Portalegre (Portugal).
