The Municipality of Azambuja will mark World Water Day and World Tree and Forest Day on Thursday, March 21, with an Environmental Education event, at Jardim Urbano Dr. Joaquim António Ramos, in Azambuja.
Awareness-raising activities are open to the public, but are essentially aimed at pre-school children.
In the garden, a set of informative spaces and interactive workshops will be installed based on the themes of the day. The City Council offers the workshops “My teddy goes to the vet” and “Come and see the classified Azambuja tree, the bees and the pine caterpillar”, fun games and a demonstration of civil protection work equipment by Forest Sappers.
The company Águas da Azambuja will present the workshop “We are water”, which is also the name of a book that will be distributed, DECO will be promoting the slogan “The water is not yours, it is not mine… it belongs to all of us!” , and the waste collection and treatment company Ecoambiente will bring a presentation of its equipment to the event.
The initiative will take place between 9:30 am and 1 pm.
