Celebrating World Tree Day and International Day of Forests, Infralobo and Vale do Lobo joined hands in a Commitment to Sustainability and Renewal and planted trees in the Trafal area

In a joint demonstration of commitment to environmental sustainability and recovery from the damage caused by the devastating fires in the summer of 2022, Infralobo and Vale do Lobo chose the Trafal area for a special tree planting initiative.

Held on World Tree Day and International Day of Forests, March 21, this event marked an important step in the fight against climate change and in promoting environmental awareness, with plantations being planted in the area, which was severely affected by the fires. 185 trees on a plot of 8,000 square meters.

This action symbolizes not only the renewal and hope for the recovery of local ecosystems, but also highlights the continuous effort of the community and organizations involved in environmental preservation and sustainability. The planted species include 50 Ash trees, 45 Carob trees, 45 Pine trees and 45 Cork trees, carefully chosen to contribute to the region’s biodiversity and ecological resilience.”, highlights Infralobo and Vale do Lobo in the note sent to our editors.

A notable aspect of this event was the special participation of students from the Association for the Intervention and Rehabilitation of Disabled and Disadvantaged Populations (EXISTIR), reinforcing the community spirit and teaching the importance of environmental responsibility. The ceremony was attended by the illustrious presence of the Administrations of Infralobo and Vale do Lobo, the Municipal Council of Loulé (President and Councillors), the Parish Council of Quarteira and the Parish Council of Almancil and the Administration of Infraquinta. This broad institutional support reflects the unity and strong commitment of the community and local authorities to the sustainable future of the region.
