Kate and William “extremely moved” by messages of support after cancer announcement

The Princes of Wales thanked the public for their affection, messages from around the world and understanding for the request for privacy at this difficult time.

William and Kate say they are “extremely touched” by the support they have received following the princess’s cancer diagnosis. In a statement issued by Kensington Palace, the Princes of Wales thanked the public for their affection.

“The Prince and Princess are extremely touched by the kind messages from people in the United Kingdom, across the Commonwealth and around the world,” a spokesperson said on Saturday.

Kate Middleton announced this Friday, through a video posted on social media, that she has cancer and has already started undergoing preventative chemotherapy, after undergoing abdominal surgery in January.

The Princess of Wales’ statement sparked a wave of messages and votes of support from other members of the Royal Family, world leaders, politicians and celebrities from around the world, as crowds gathered outside Buckingham Palace and Windsor Castle.
