The rehabilitation process of the Ingote and Rosa neighborhoods in Coimbra has already completed 56 houses, out of a total of 105 planned. This rehabilitation project, included in the “1st Law” program, represents an investment of 3,215,459.56 euros. The works, which are in progress, aim to improve the quality of life of residents of these neighborhoods.

The “1st Right” program established a protocol with the Institute of Housing and Urban Rehabilitation, IP, in June 2021, to restore 86 homes in Bairro da Rosa and 33 in Bairro do Ingote. With the imminent completion of works on 14 homes, financing was directed to the remaining 105 housing units.

Interventions include the demolition of existing structures, replacement of floors, painting, renovation of sanitary installations, replacement of carpentry, electrical, water, gas and telecommunications networks, among others.

The project was divided into lots, with companies hired to carry out the works in each one. In Bairro do Ingote, 30 homes have already been restored, while in Bairro da Rosa, of the 75 planned, 26 have already been handed over to residents.
