The Piranha World Fighters Sports Association was crowned regional Kempo champion this weekend, in a competition that took place in Caldas da Rainha.

In total, the Leiria team participated with 45 athletes in various disciplines, taking home the 1st place Team trophy in the Central/South Regional Championship.

The competition was divided into two moments: on Saturday, athletes over 14 years old competed and, on Sunday, it was the turn of younger athletes, between 6 and 13 years old, to compete.

The sum of the victories in each individual event allowed Piranha World Fighters to accumulate 225 points, a mark that gave the club 1st place.

With this victory, the majority of participants qualified for the national kempo championships. The youngest athletes will compete on the 25th of May, in the National Training Championship and, in turn, the National Youth, Junior and Senior Championship takes place between the 15th and 16th of June. Both races will take place in Caldas da Rainha.
