Pedro Dominguinhos, president of the National Commission for Monitoring the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), goes to the University of Algarve on a working visit, this Tuesday, March 26, to take stock of its implementation in the UAlg.

Within the scope of the PRR, the strategy of the University of Algarve (UAlg) is based on 4 axes: teaching, research, community and governance. UAlg has been developing a set of actions to attract more students to higher education, young people and adults, to improve academic success and reduce school dropout rates, through pedagogical innovation, providing digital and transversal skills. Furthermore, this program also focuses on the construction and requalification of infrastructure and the acquisition of equipment.

It should be noted that the PRR is a national application program, with an execution period until 2026, which aims to implement a set of reforms and investments aimed at restoring sustained economic growth, after the pandemic, reinforcing the objective of convergence with Europe , over the next decade, guided by a concept of sustainability inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The visit program begins at 2 pm with a boat trip along the Ria Formosa on the “MARUALG” vessel, 100% financed by the PRR, with capacity for 20 people. This is followed by the simulation of a practical class in a real context, usually taught to students on undergraduate, master’s and doctoral courses linked to maritime areas.
