Casa do Povo da Abrunheira (CPA) collectively won the 2nd stage of the Portuguese Downhill Cup (DHI), at Monte da Padela (Viana do Castelo).
José Sousa was the betet player who had the best result, having climbed to 1st place on the podium in the masters 45 category. However, the leader of the ranking continues to be Ricardo Soares. Rodrigo Pereira was also stronger in the Open Experts category. In Elite, victory went to foreign athletes. The Swiss Lisa Baumann (Commencal Les Orres), sixth in the world rankings, won the women’s elite race with a time of 2”34’66, 0.166 seconds less than the British Mikayla Parton (BNC Racing) and 1.843 seconds less than the Frenchwoman Lisa Bouladou (X1racing Commencal), leader among the under-23s. In the men’s elite, the winner was the German Max Hartenstern (CUBE Factory Racing), 24th in the world rankings, with 2”14’917, 0.343 seconds less than the Frenchman and European champion Antoine Vidal (Commencal Enduro Team), and 0.557 seconds less than fellow Frenchman Simon Chapelet (Cube Factory Racing), the best among the under-23s. Tomás Barreiros (WILDBOYS/TOMAR Cidade Templária), 15th, was the best Portuguese.
