Heralds are one of the main brand images associated with Portugal dos Pequenitos and, this Easter season, they “come to life”. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the theme park presents “Once upon a time… the Herald”, a program that opens and closes with the heralds playing the bugle.
For now, the sound of the bugle is recorded, but it could soon happen live, explained Nuno Gonçalves, director of Portugal dos Pequenitos. This symbolic moment, of opening and closing of the park, takes place during the Easter program and continues on weekends and holidays, with the possibility of maintaining it during the high season being evaluated.
Visits take place every hour, starting at 10:30 am (interrupting for lunch at 1:30 pm), and pass through nine points: bust of Bissaya Barreto, Macau – Birth of the Dragon, Azores – Discovery of Diogo de Silves, Monastery of Alcobaça – History of D. Pedro and Inês de Castro, Teatro D. Maria II – History of D. Maria II, University of Coimbra – D. Dinis and Rainha Santa Isabel, Casa do Forno – Padeira de Aljubarrota, Casa do Chá – Catarina de Bragança and Praça D. Afonso Henriques – past and present. At each of these points, visitors are given a piece of a puzzle, which they can color in the construction workshop.
