The rain and strong wind, due to the Nelson depression, are causing numerous events and conditions in Portugal and the islands.

Civil Protection recorded 598 incidents, between midnight and 7pm this Thursday, when more than 800 firefighters were on the ground. They respond to falling trees and structures and flooding.

The occurrences mainly occurred on the North and Central coast, with the most affected sub-regions being Greater Lisbon and Algarve, which at the end of the day was being affected with greater precipitation and strong winds, and also Lezíria do Tejo.

Until Easter Sunday, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere, rain will be constant. Snowfall is expected in some regions, strong winds and strong sea waves.
