“It’s Time to Play” in Albufeira

-

Similar to what happens every year during summer, the Municipality of Albufeira organizes several activity programs aimed at occupying the free time of children and young people in the municipality.

The “It’s Time to Play 24” Project is already underway. Every year, the Municipality of Albufeira, through the services of the Education Division, organizes a set of activities specially designed for children who are attending Kindergartens in the municipality’s public network, whose parents are working without alternatives where they can keep your children safe, particularly during the month of August.

The program, which last year welcomed 400 children, will take place from the 5th to the 30th of August, in the Kindergartens of Vale Pedras, Ferreiras, Paderne and Guia. The first fortnight runs from the 5th to the 16th of August and the second takes place from the 19th to the 30th of August, with activities taking place from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Registration, which is free, opens on April 10th (Wednesday), from 9:30 am, and runs until April 12th (Friday) until 11:59 pm, and must be done online HERE, with the award vacancies will be made in order of registration.

Interested parties must fill out the registration form, presenting the following documents: Citizen Card/Student/Guardian Identification Document; Updated declaration of working hours, vacation periods and days off for Parents. It should be noted that the lack of one of the previously mentioned documents makes registration in the project unfeasible, as does the provision of false statements and data.

The president of Albufeira City Council considers the project to be extremely important, since the social reality experienced in the municipality of Albufeira during the summer period is extremely complex, making it very difficult for parents to reconcile family and professional life.

José Carlos Rolo emphasizes that “the municipality is aware of this reality, concerned about the well-being of its children and committed to providing answers to parents who have no one to leave their children with at a time of year when the municipality’s economic activity is at its maximum capacity.”

In this way, “É Tempo de Brincar” seeks to give the little ones the opportunity to have access to a fun holiday, through the discovery of new experiences and experiences outside the school routine, allowing them to enrich their relationships with others in an informal way, learn playing, sharing, discovering and growing, developing healthy habits, ensuring they get the attention they need and keeping them active through educational, sporting, recreational and cultural activities.
