Young pianist from Setúbal presented an original theme and held his place among the best in the country
Dinis Reis secured a place in the Grand Final of Got Talent Portugal. The young pianist and composer had promised to surprise everyone watching with something “very different” from what he had presented so far and the surprise factor was enough to be the Portuguese choice for the final of this talent program.
It was at the fourth and final gala before the Grand Final, which took place this Sunday, that the sadino talent, just 15 years old, secured his place among the best in Portugal by playing an original theme.
Having been selected through a Golden Card, by maestro Rui Massena (one of the members of the Jury), Dinis Reis, just 15 years old, passed the audition phase with unanimous approval from the four judges, went on to the qualifying phase for the semi-finals and, among 18 competitors in that phase, he was one of the six competitors selected to move on to the next phase, for the live galas (semi-final), having now secured a place in the final.
After reaching the stage of the program in which the “public is the one who orders the most”, through a telephone vote for his preferred candidate, Dinis Reis left the Portuguese enchanted with his performance.
Dinis Reis was born in 2008 at Hospital de Setúbal and music entered his life from an early age, having a family also linked to music. It was at the age of seven that he started taking piano lessons, moving on, two years later, to the piano where he ended up staying.
He currently attends the 6th grade at the Setúbal Regional Conservatory. About a year ago he released an EP called “Deep Outside”, and soon after he released the songs “Soul & Heart”, “Two Hearts”, and “Walkway”, compositions that stand out “for their emotional charge that they transmit and the deep relationship with the elements that inspire it, in a very unique neoclassical atmosphere”.
In addition to his solo work, Dinis Reis has been participating as a pianist in shows by Associação Setúbal Voz, both supporting the Setúbal Voz Choir and the Setúbal Opera Company, under the direction of Maestro Jorge Salgueiro.
Currently, he is preparing a concert in collaboration with the pianist and composer Gerardo Rodrigues, entitled “20 fingers of conversation”. This is a double concert, a coffee conversation between generations, a sharing of experiences in which, in addition to listening to the two pianists in concert, the public will be able to talk to the two artists, up close, as if they were with them in concert. stage.
