“Vidrinho de Lamas” accused of stealing 15 thousand euros in a wave of petrol station robberies in Braga

The Public Ministry (MP) charged a man and two women with various crimes of theft, theft and document forgery, allegedly committed in the city of Braga, the Porto District Attorney General’s Office (PGDP) announced today.

In a statement published on the website, the PGDP says that the MP considered that the main defendant, from September 17 to 25, 2023, “carried out several robberies” in the municipality of Braga, “part of them in co-authorship with the defendants ”.

“Among the targets robbed, located in Vimeiro, Penso (Santo Estêvão), Sequeira, Lamas, Gondizalves, Maximinos, Gualtar, Lomar/Arcos and Nogueira, there are five gas stations, a barbecue, a cafe, a car wash, a motor vehicle and several other motor vehicles from which the license plates were removed and then affixed to the vehicles used to commit the acts”, indicates the PGDP.

As O MINHO reported at the time, the suspect is known as “Vidrinho de Lamas”. He entered establishments alone, always with a car running and the two women inside the vehicle, as shown by video surveillance footage from the four service stations robbed.

The trio robbed Cepsa de Sequeira (August 17), Galp (Grupo Freitas) in Gualtar (September 17), Q8 in Gualtar (September 23) and Shell (formerly BP) in Nogueira (September 24), all in Braga.

According to the MP, in one of the robberies at gas stations “the defendant equipped himself with a knife, and in two others with a compressed air gun similar to a revolver, objects that he displayed to his interlocutors in those establishments to compel them to hand over. them the values ​​that were there.”

The defendant is also accused of renting a vehicle and making it his own.

According to the indictment, the global value of the assets appropriated in the robberies amounts to almost 15 thousand euros.

The defendant is subject to the coercive measure of preventive detention.

The two defendants are free, but subject to three-weekly appearances at the police station in their area of ​​residence and prohibition of contact with the injured parties.

The man is accused of eight crimes of theft, of which five are qualified, four crimes of theft – of which, three are qualified -, one crime of qualified breach of trust and five crimes of document forgery.

The accusation was handed down on March 26th by the MP in the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action (DIAP) of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Braga (Guimarães, 1st section).
