PME Fund: IP Scan Enforcement available in Portugal

The new IP Scan Enforcement service is available in Portugal, as of today, within the scope of the European Union Fund to support the protection of Industrial Property Rights of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs), promoted by the Intellectual Property Institute of European Union (EUIPO).

Voucher 1 of the PME Fund allows reimbursement of 90% of expenses incurred with the IP Scan Enforcement service, up to a maximum value of 810 euros, in Portugal.

This service aims to advise SMEs that find their Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) have been violated, that are the target of accusations of IPR infringement by third parties or that have a high risk of suffering such infringements.

IP Scan Enforcement covers a wide range of IP rights whose subject matter is subject to risk of infringement: patents, trademarks, designs and models, utility models, plant varieties, geographical indications and unregistered or unregistrable assets such as trade secrets, rights copyright and unregistered designs and models.

To take advantage of this service, the SME must, as a first step, submit an application to the SME Fund on the EUIPO website. After the aforementioned application has been approved and the grant (voucher) has been awarded, the SME must consult the list of experts selected to provide this service. You must then fill out the form available online in order to request the IP Scan Enforcement service.

All steps to request the IP Scan Enforcement Service are available for consultation on the INPI website.
