Open-air cinema in Lisbon from May

The new open-air cinema season in the city of Lisbon begins on May 11th and runs until September. This year the exhibitions will take place at Carmo Rooftop, in Ruínas do Carmo, and at Doca da Marinha, a first for this initiative.

“A Fish Out of Water” by Wes Anderson, with Bill Murray, Angelica Huston and Willem Dafoe, and “Here” by Spike Jonze, with Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams and Scarlett JohanssonOpen the season on May 11th and 14that Doca da Marinha and Carmo Rooftop, respectively.

Classic and contemporary films are part of the programming for the 2024 season, again under the responsibility of the Cine Society.

Until September, there are still new features in the program, as well as other iconic spaces in the city that will integrate this unique experience.

In the first few days, Wes Anderson is back on display with the film “Darjeeling Limited”which follows three brothers on a train journey through India, one year after their father’s death.

The classics of North American romantic cinema “A Woman’s Dream” and “Dance with Me” can be seen at Doca da Marinha, on May 17th and 18th.

Other reference films and box office winners are also part of the program, as is the case with “Barbie”, “Grease”, “Mamma Mia”, “Footloose”, “Casablanca”, “Pretty Woman”, “ET”, “Dirty Dancing” and the “A Star is Born”.

Tickets can be purchased on the Cine Society website and cost €13.90.
