This Wednesday (13), Netflix released the first teaser for “ATLAS”, a new science fiction thriller starring Jennifer Lopez. Directed by Brad Peyton, the film hits streaming on May 24th.
In the production, the star plays Atlas Shepherd, a brilliant and antisocial data analyst, with a deep distrust of artificial intelligence. She joins a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past. However, when plans go wrong, the character will need to trust AI to save the future of humanity.
The teaser initially features a tense scene of J. Lo, who appears bewildered and with blood on her head after an accident. “Are you listening to me? Are you listening to me?“, says the character. A futuristic city, aggressive robots and space warfare are also showcased. “The future of humanity depends on it“, also presents the video. In the official poster, she appears in an aerial airship amid explosions and robotic threats.
In addition to the artist, the main cast includes Simu Liu, Sterling K. Brown, Gregory James Cohan, Abraham Popoola, Lana Parrilla and Mark Strong. Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite direct the script. Watch the trailer:
