Grazi Massafera and Reynaldo Gianecchini star in “Uma Família Feliz”, a dramatic thriller directed by José Eduardo Belmonte. The production, whose trailer is released exclusively here on hugogloss.com, this Thursday (14), deals with the dramas of motherhood and social pressures. The original story and script are by Raphael Montes (“Bom dia, Verônica” and “Beleza Fatal”), who also debuts as assistant director.
In the plot, Eva (Massafera) has just given birth to her third child and is faced with the anguish of postpartum depression, in the midst of a life without apparent problems. The tranquility of the “commercial family” is invaded by strange events, when the couple’s twin daughters (Luiza Antunes and Juliana Bim) and the couple’s newborn baby appear injured.
From then on, the protagonist is accused, retaliated against by the community, isolated and identified as a suspect even by Vicente, her own husband (Gianecchini). With the developments, Eva needs to overcome her moment of fragility to prove her innocence and restructure her supposedly perfect family. And maybe she’s not even to blame…
The film was shown for the first time during the Gramado Festival and, later, at the São Paulo International Film Festival and the LABRFF Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival. Raphael Montes’ story also gave rise to the book of the same name, which arrived in bookstores this Wednesday, March 13th.
