A Lucasfilm released this Monday (18) the first poster of Star Wars: The Acolyte (Star Wars: The Acolyte), new live-action series that takes the saga from a galaxy far, far away to the time of the High Republic. With the poster, it was confirmed that the premiere will be on June 4th at Disney+.

The poster reinforces the dark tone promised for the series, with a Lightsaber stained with blood, and the red liquid occupying the space where the weapon’s “blade” would be. Additionally, Lucasfilm announced that the first trailer for The Acolyte will be released tomorrow (19).

Amandla Stenberg (Death Death Death, The Hate U Give), Jodie Turner-Smith (Without Remorse, After Yang), Lee Jung-jae (Round 6), Manny Jacinto (Top Gun: Maverick), Rebecca Henderson (Russian Doll), Dafne Keen (Logan, His Dark Materials), Dean Charles-Chapman (1917) and Charlie Barnett (Russian Doll) complement the cast. Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) will also be in the series, making its debut in Star Wars.

The first Star Wars production with a Sith as its protagonist, The Acolye will be a mystery thriller set in the darkest corners of the Galaxy during the end of the High Republic era, when the Jedi were at their peak and were not rare figures in the universe (both is that we will see the first Wookie Jedi), but rather predominant against their enemies on the Dark Side.

In the story, a former Padawan (Stenberg) who is now on the Dark Side crosses paths with her former Jedi Master (Jung-jae) again during the investigation of a series of shocking crimes, but the two then encounter more sinister forces. than they expected.

The end of the High Republic era in the Star Wars galaxy is approximately 100 years before The Phantom Menace. The word Acolyte refers to an apprentice of a Sith Lord. Leslie Headland (Russian Doll) will be the writer, producer and showrunner of the series, whose production is underway.

Star Wars: The Acolyte will be released on Disney+ on June 4th this year.
