After Skydance Media impressed the community with the graphics of Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, the title became embroiled in controversy with the fanbase. On social media, a post went viral after comparing the looks of the new Captain America with those of Chris Evans, from the MCU.

According to internet user “midnightcap”, an “off-brand” aesthetic was being used by the game’s developers. However, despite the hero’s costume having similarities to the one in the movies, the Steve Rogers actor would not look like Evans.

Captain America fan calls for Marvel 1943 to be removed from theaters

The criticism behind this suggestion indicates that Skydance could be based on an unprecedented costume to bring the new Captain America to life in Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. However, while some people supported the post, others commented that there are no similarities between the uniforms.

Check out the original post below:

First tweet — If you’re going to use these characters without the MCU actors, that’s great, but I wish you’d move away from the MCU-style costumes more. Your helmet doesn’t have to look like off-brand Chris Evans.

Second tweet — I have nothing against the game. I hope it’s good! There are details that I like here, like the cape and the wide collar. I’d just like to see some of these big budget comic book games to occasionally have the vibrant visual style of 616 Marvel again instead of MCU/Ultimates.

In the game, Captain America will be played by actor Drew Moerlein, who voiced games such as GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Horizon Forbidden West.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will be released in 2025.
