An original adaptation of James Clavell’s novel, Shogun: The Glorious History of Japan from FX, is set in 1600s Japan, at the start of a civil war that defined the century. The fates of Toranaga and Blackthorne become inextricably linked to those of the interpreter Toda Mariko, a mysterious Christian noblewoman who is the last of her disgraced line. While serving her lord amidst this intense political landscape, Mariko must balance her new companionship with Blackthorne, her commitment to the faith that saved her, and her duty to her late father.
