The hit “Psychosocial” is featured on Slipknot’s album “All Hope Is Gone”, released in 2008 by Roadrunner. In an article by Loudersound bringing together curiosities about the band’s songs, Corey Taylor explains how the hit came about.

“I knew that song was going to be amazing. I thought it gave so many tones to ‘All Hope Is Gone’ that I really wanted to push it further, lyrically. When I got the songs that Paul and Joey were working on, I had notebooks full of ideas for lyrics. I had a lyric sheet that I was working on when I heard that song, and at the end, the chorus of Psychosocial was there. It was just destiny, it was meant to be. This song has a weird rhythm to it – everything falls where it should, but also where it shouldn’t be – so it fits with that huge chorus.”

His bandmate Shawn Crahan, known by his artistic nickname Clown, said he didn’t understand anything and continued without understanding: “I had to ask Corey what psychosocial meant. He didn’t tell me”, he said.
