Internet says John Bush is a millionaire, and he wants to know where all that money is

During a conversation with the That Metal Interview podcast, John Bush (Armored Saint, ex-Anthrax) said that these sites that estimate celebrities’ fortunes are not reliable, when commenting on the numbers attributed to them. The transcription is from Blabbermouth.

Bush fronted Anthrax from 1992 to 2005, leaving when the band reunited with Joey Belladonna for a 20th anniversary tour. When the relationship between them soured and his successor, Dan Nelson, also left, Bush was back for some time, until Belladonna resumed the role again in 2010.

“There’s something weird on Wikipedia or somewhere that says I’m worth, like, $40 million. And some of my friends are always teasing me about it. ‘So where’s my money?’ I just laugh, I’m a long way from that. I’d like to. But it’s a joke, like, wow! Why don’t they put something that’s viable, like a couple of million. But 40 — it’s really a silly thing.”says the vocalist.

Then he amends: “I mean, don’t get me wrong, we’re fine”referring to the Armored Saint. “We go on the road, we sell merchandise and we’re good. But when we come back, we pay the bills and then we’re like, ‘Damn, where did the money go?’, like everyone else who survives and just lives their lives. But the music is, I think, a huge catalyst. And I know this might sound corny – ‘We do it for the music’ – but that’s really the main reason. We love playing these songs and our records. And when someone tells me that this song on this record really touched them, that’s enough for me. That’s the real reason”.
