Helldivers 2 became a huge hit with gamers, and it seems that some Steam games wanted to take advantage of its popularity.
In short, two games on the Steam store disguised themselves as Helldivers 2 to trick players into purchasing them. These titles – Figurality by SoleOnBoard Studio and Do Not Smile by Whitehole Games – changed their Steam page to look practically the same as Helldivers 2.
All of its metadata has been changed, including the game title, description, developer and publisher information, and screenshots. The result was that there appeared to be three almost identical Steam pages for Helldivers 2.
However, there was some information that was not changed: the release date, the number of reviews and the price, which was much lower than the original game.
Therefore, it is possible that many players have fallen for the trick, thinking they are buying Helldivers 2 at a discounted price. The culprits were discovered and have since been removed from the platform. Apparently, both game pages were edited at the same time, suggesting that one person or team was responsible for both.
