Ángel Torres, who shone in winning the Youth League in 2019, is suspected of “attacking, intimidating and raping” a woman
Ángel Torres, former FC Porto footballer, was arrested and accused of rape on Monday, in Australia, where he currently plays, according to ‘The Guardian’.
In addition to having shone for the blue and whites in winning the Youth League (under-19 Champions League) in 2018/19, the Colombian also played for Alverca.
The alleged rape of a woman occurred on March 24th. The 24-year-old player, who posted bail, will appear in court on May 6. “[Torres] “He was taken to the police station, where he was accused of assault, intimidation and sexual assault without consent,” the police said in a statement.
The Central Coast Mariners athlete is, until a court decision, suspended by the Australian federation.
Ángel Torres joined the blue and whites in 2018, coming from Colombia. He played for FC Porto’s under-19s and B team, before moving to Alverca. In 2022 he headed to Malta, where he played for the Balzan Youths.
This season, he has 15 goals and seven assists for the Mariners.
