“He won nothing in his career”

O Manchester United received and beat Sheffield United, 4-2, this Wednesday, in a match ‘not suitable for the faint of heart’, in which Bruno Fernandes played a fundamental role, contributing with two goals and an assist.

A performance that was not enough to convince Roy Keane, historic captain of the Red Devils, who, in the podcast ‘The Overlap‘, got involved in an intense discussion with Ian Wright, former Arsenal striker, regarding what the Portuguese international continues to lack to be considered a high-level player.

“He hasn’t won anything in his career. He’s 29 years old. What has he won in his career? (…). Is he the one who saves the club? Listen, he hasn’t won anything in his career. He hasn’t won anything in his career. Look at his CV. If he’s one of the best players, he has responsibility”, he said.

“I think he’s a talented guy, but does he help people and make the players around him better? The answer is ‘no’, 100%. He likes to dig them up, which is right, but you also have to drag the others”, he continued.

“Would you like to be in that Manchester United dressing room today with those boys? I’m not sure about that. I think it’s reasonable when we’re winning, but we’re not going to win all the time,” added the Irishman.
