After learning yesterday that Adrian Newey may be packing his bags for Ferrari, it is quite possible that in the next two years his job will be…gardening. Or keep everything as it is.
At least that’s what Motorsport writes, as well-informed sources at Red Bull say that Adrian Newey could leave, but not without an agreement.

And what does that mean? For now, there has been no formal communication with Red Bull Racing regarding his possible departure from the position of technical director nor any official request for his resignation.
That’s why they were surprised by yesterday’s news that he should go to Ferrari.
It is known that Adrian Newey may want to leave, it is also known that Ferrari and Aston Martin are interested in his contribution, but things could be much more complicated than one might assume, with regard to what is written in your contract.
According to what is known, the contract is valid until the end of 2025, and there are rumors of ‘unfulfilled’ contractual clauses that allow for early exit, as well as a 12-month grace period. All in all, Newey could only work on another team in 2027. If so, his work will only take effect in 2028. We are less than halfway to 2024…
