Windows 11 development continues at a very high pace and always brings important new features. Microsoft wants to improve its offer and give users the most by releasing regular updates, full of new features. The most recent, “Moment 5”, has now been officially announced and will soon be released to everyone.
Even though it has regular updates, Microsoft saves the big news for its new annual versions. These concentrate all the major improvements and new features, gradually releasing them to users, trying to control any problems.
“Moment 5” is the next major update for Windows 11 and is now official, with Microsoft showing all its new features. These were developed and tested over the last few months in the Insider program and are now ready to be made available to everyone.
For now it will only be available to those who want to receive news in the field of updates. Also, only eligible devices will receive the “Moment 5” update automatically on April 9, 2024, as part of Patch Tuesday.
From what you can see, “Moment 5” is a relatively small update that focuses on improving accessibility, sharing, Windows 365, screen casting, Windows settings and more. The full list of new features can be seen below.
- Voice Access now supports more languages, custom commands, and additional actions.
- Narrator now lets you preview natural voices, use a new keyboard shortcut for image descriptions, and more.
- Windows now lets you share content with more apps.
- Windows may suggest casting your screen during multitasking and helpful links if you have connection issues.
- Snap Layouts can predict which apps you want to organize and in which layout.
- New features for Windows 365 like dedicated mode, passwordless authentication, quick account switching, and more.
If you don't want to wait until April, you can install the “Moment 5” update right now. Go to Settings > Windows Update and activate the option “Receive the latest updates as they become available”. Then, click on “Check for updates” and download the available updates.
