Software engineer goes viral for using Apple Vision Pro during his own wedding

Just a week after the launch of the Apple Vision Pro headset, a guy had the idea of ​​using the device at his own wedding.

Jacob Wright, software engineer at artificial intelligence startup Runpod, surprised his bride by using the headset during post-wedding ceremony photos earlier this month. He continued using the Vision Pro during the reception and on the dance floor, capturing unique moments with the video recording function turned on, including snippets of Nicki Minaj’s song “Starships.”

While Cambree, dressed as a bride, held a bouquet of flowers and the mountainous Utah scenery served as a backdrop, Jacob controlled the headset screen with discreet gestures.

Jacob, who considers exploring new technologies his main hobby, shared his excitement for Vision Pro. He and Cambree, a student at Brigham Young University, reside in Utah but have plans to move soon to the San Francisco Bay Area .

Jacob has experience in the city, where he lived for 12 weeks in 2023, and has a background in areas such as cryptocurrency sales and developing online programs for members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Although Jacob had fun with the Vision Pro’s features, his wife expressed some discomfort, finding the experience somewhat frightening and strange. She admitted she was reluctant to allow the headset to be included in the wedding photos, but Jacob, taking advantage of a moment of distraction, decided to use it anyway.

Although the image that circulated online gave the impression that Cambree was uncomfortable, she clarified that she was not as angry as she appeared in the photo.
