A green bear, a yellow bear and a red bear go on a revolution (and mysteriously appear in the middle of the night)

-

They appeared at the top of Parque Eduardo VII, sitting in office chairs. Three giant stuffed animals, more or less similar — as they are bears — but different in color: green, yellow and red.

The sculptural intervention caused surprise on Thursday, April 25th, during the Revolution celebrations, but it would soon become a place for “pilgrimages” and various photographs.

The author is Super Linox, a Portuguese artist whose identity is anonymous.

Despite usually making monochromatic language its signature, this time Super Linox used the shades of the flag, as if “appropriating” the recent controversy surrounding the Government symbol — this is at least what the artist suggests in the publicity he made for this constructions.

Super Linox, whose works are publicly seen “without prior notice, generally in symbolic and highly exposed locations”, titled the sculpture (interactive, “in the sense that the bears’ chairs can rotate and change the characters’ orientation”) “Press conference”.

And he justifies, ironically and provocatively on his social networks: “There are those who are playing with Politics. There are those who are playing with everything. There are those who are not playing with Nothing. These are the three of the airy life.”
