WOver the years we have seen an increase in scams and fraud attempts via WhatsApp, a problem that Meta seems to be aware of and working to combat. WhatsApp’s latest addition appears, in fact, created precisely to prevent people from falling victim to scams.
Android Police says that WhatsApp has started actively testing a feature that prevents users from taking screenshots when viewing other users’ profile images. It appears that this feature will be activated for all WhatsApp accounts as soon as it is officially launched.
The objective is clear and should help prevent strangers from pretending to be family and friends of people they intend to scam.
